Allergic conjunctivitis — 'eye allergy' — makes the eyes red, itchy and watery. It often goes hand in hand with allergic rhinitis and shares the same triggers.

How We Diagnose & Treat It

Diagnosis is based on symptoms and, where useful, allergy testing to identify the trigger. Treatment focuses on avoiding triggers, anti-allergic eye drops and antihistamines — and, for persistent cases, treating the underlying allergy, sometimes with immunotherapy.

Constantly rubbing itchy eyes? Identifying the trigger can bring real, lasting comfort.
